Basic Skincare

Okay, this is just your basic every day skincare.

Again, exfoliate is the key! I use those scruby mitts that you can get for about a dollar at the grocery store, every other day. I focus on the T zone of my face, this is where I get the most break-outs and black heads. For you, focus on your problem areas.

I do not use a face wash that already has exfoliation materials in it. If you want to use something like that, go for one that has crystallized material and not apricot shells. Reason for this is that crystals are uniform in size and shape, where as the random crushed shells are not. The shells tend to be uneven and basically start to shred your skin.

I use Neutrogena's Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Facial Cleanser. It's in a clear pump bottle and it's green soap. This is half the reason why I have such clear skin. I use products to make sure there will not be any acne. I like the perk of this face wash that it will reduce redness if you do have some blemishes.

Pat your skin dry. Never pull a towel down your face. Reason for this is that pulling will slowly break down your natural elasticity of your skin, and takes longer to remove the moisture. For some reason, patting dry your skin, including the rest of your body, the towel is able to soak up more of the water faster.

Now comes the toner. I happen to use another Neutrogena product, their basic toner sensitive skin. It doesn't over dry my  skin or burn while applying.

After that, I use Dior's Capture Totale One Essential. What it is: "An exceptionally effective age-defying step that successfully eliminates toxins, down to the heart of the skin cells, to intensely regenerate, stimulate cell-turnover, and correct all visible signs of aging." Well, if it really does that, awesome, but all I know is that it makes my moisturizer work so much better. It is essential that you have a facial moisturizer that has at least SPF15. It helps prevent premature aging from exposure to the sun. I use Dior Hydra Life Pro-Youth Sorbet Creme for my moisturizer. I know it's on the high end, but this is the only one that I have found that does not feel heavy on my skin or kind of greasy.

For under your eyes, if they are puffy or dark, or just want to look a little more awake than what you really are, use Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller. It has some caffeine in it that helps lighten the circles. If you keep it in the fridge, it works even better. If you want to go an easy an cheap way, keep two spoons in the fridge and use them on your eyes when needed. But for daily use, use an eye moisturizer. Again, mine is Dior. It is the same as the face moisturizer but meant only for your eyes. When applying, use your ring finger and pat it on. The skin under your eyes is very sensitive and thin.

That is my basic daily routine. If and when there's a blemish, or one that is trying to come out, use an on the spot acne cream. If in a pinch, use a basic white toothpaste for the spot. It really does work!

Now I haven't gotten into the perks of facial masks or other useful scrubs in this post. I'm saving them for later ones, and I do have some good ones that work well and some you even can eat!

Shaving

Hi! Welcome to my first post. I came up with this while in the bath today.

Shaving; legs, face, which ever other part of your body you'd like.

I have found that exfoliating is the key to keeping your skin looking great after a shave. Exfoliate about every other day. I use a natural sea sponge hand thingy with a moisturizing body wash.

Next, now this might be a bit weird in concept for you but, I don't use shaving cream. I use a thick, replenishing, conditioner. Yes, as in hair conditioner. It allows the razor to glide over your skin easily and helps prevent irritation (those annoying red bumps). This can also be used for men and their beards.

Use a sharp razor. Don't leave your razor in the shower, it will rust and dull. One thing I always support is, even for women, use a razor intended for a man. If it can hug the sharp curves of a man's face, it can do the same for a woman's body.

After care: moisturizer. Be it a tick cream or just a useful body lotion. This is based on how dry your skin is and what you prefer. If you are prone to red bumps or irritation, use a astringent before the lotion. May I suggest a sensitive skin version because it won't burn as much, if at all. If you're looking for that shine, there are some light oils and oil sprays out there that will do both, moisturize and give a gleam. Sometimes, even come with a light sent.

This little tricks can be used by men and women on any part of the body you chose. These are my ticks, I hope they work for you!

If you have any of your own that get great results, please leave them in the comments. I'd love to hear them.
